SKIN PEN PRE TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
For best results, it is advised to avoid intense sun exposure and wear spf 30 daily to protect your skin. If you have a sun burn or skin rash at the time of your procedure, we will need to reschedule until healed. This includes coldsore breakouts. Please let your provider know if you are susceptible to coldsore breakouts, we will need to asses medications prior to your treatment. Your Advanced Skincare Specialist may also recommend a pre-treatment regimen depending on the type of peel.
Avoid Vitamin E, fish oils, and Ginkgo Biloba for one week prior to treatment.
Avoid anti-histamine and anti-inflammatory (Prednisone) drugs one week prior to treatment. These negate the effects of the procedure. The body's histamine and inflammatory responses are needed post procedure.
Stop Laser Hair Removal, Electrolysis, Waxing, and Depilatory creams one week prior to treatment.
Stop topical Retinoids, Tretinoin, Retinoic Acid, Retin-A, Renova, Refissa, AHA & BHA Acids one week prior to treatment. If you are unsure if your products have these ingredients, please consult your provider at Pure Lux Medspa.
If using Accutane, a 9-month waiting period after discontinuation of medication is required.
Please notify our office if you have ever been diagnosed with Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV)
What to expect after your treatment:
Immediate pinpoint bleeding may occur, which will resolve within 30 minutes.
Minor redness and swelling will occur for 1-2 days.
Minor peeling and flakiness will occur after a few days. Don't pick at the loose skin.
While excessive redness, swelling, pain or drainage in a very rare side effect, you will want to call your provider if there is any concern as this might indicate an infection.
