OWN YOUR LOOK OF CONFIDENCE
For smoothing wrinkles, sculpting lips, and improving other facial features, filler injections are a growing favorite.
Are you wishing that you had a little more volume in your cheeks? Or feeling like every time you look in the mirror a new line has popped up? As you grow older, the fat pads in your face diminish and your own production of collagen and hyaluronic acid starts to dwindle. Fortunately, we live in an era where we have some really great options to combat the signs of aging. Dermal fillers have become increasingly popular, and when done well, they can quickly decrease the common signs of aging or enhance your natural features in a beautiful natural way. With just one treatment, you’ll get smooth and natural-looking results.
NOT SURE WHETHER DERMAL FILLERS ARE THE RIGHT CHOICE FOR YOU?
Start with a comprehensive consultation with an experienced aesthetic practitioner. During the consultation, your aesthetic goals and skin care needs will be discussed and evaluated, and a customized plan for achieving amazing & natural looking results will be created. A wide variety of dermal fillers are available, so an experienced practitioner will help you make the right selection for your individual needs.
What is dermal filler made of?
Most fillers are made of Hyaluronic Acid. At Pure Lux Medspa in Edina Minnesota, we only use the best products that are made of Hyaluronic Acid. WHY?... It's natural to the body.
Hyaluronic Acid is critical in maintaining and binding in our skin's own moisture. It is naturally produced within our own body. However, as we age, we are exposed to free radicals and UV rays and our body slows in the production of hyaluronic which results in dry, dull and wrinkled skin. To maintain a youthful glow, a dose of hyaluronic might be exactly what you need. At Pure Lux Medspa located in south Minneapolis, we specialize in treating the skin with concentrated hyaluronic in a wide variety of dermal fillers that offer the missing supply of hyaluronic back into the skin to maintain a super-soft, plump, radiant glow.
FUN FACT: We also use filler grade hyaluronic acid in our facial treatments like Diamond Glow, Skin Pen & Chemical Peels.
What areas can facial fillers be used on?
- Fuller, more defined lips
- Reduction in smoker’s lines
- Upturn in the corners of the mouth
- Loss of volume in cheeks, defining the cheekbone area and highlighting your natural contour.
- More prominence of the chin, aligning your profile and lower lip pout
- Sagging Jowels
- Define the jawline
- Nasal folds or the parenthesis known as "smile lines"
- Finelines through out the face
- Bags under the eyes
What is a procedure like?
Dermal Filler is administered by our RN aesthetic nurse injection specialist Maret Agrimson who has over 15 years of experience. We keep a calm and cleansing setting in our injection room and pride ourselves in education while going over in detail what will take place specific to your needs.
- Our nurse will select the best product that will meet your goals.
- She will map the injection points for each location to be treated. Antiseptic and a topical numbing adgent will be applied.
- The Dermal Filler is injected beneath the skin. The hyaluronic acid in the filler adheres to the skin as the water contained in the acid helps to retain volume under the skin's surface. The acid acts as a magnet for water, which helps to preserve the renewed volume of the skin.
Is it painful?
We hate pain just as much as you do. At Pure Lux Medspa in Edina, Minnesota, we pride ourselves in making your dermal filler as comfortable as possible. We only carry dermal fillers that have lidocaine in the product allowing for sufficient relief from pain. We also offer a topical aesthetic for extra comfort. At most, people describe the sensation as mild discomfort and the majority of patients feel no pain at all.
How long does filler last?
The results will improve from the time of the treatment until about three weeks later. You can expect them to last 6 months to about a year depending on product and location. You might be happy to learn that subsequent treatments typically require less of the dermal filler, making any annual visits even quicker and simpler than the previous initial session.
What is the recovery time?
There is little recovery time after your Dermal Filler. Although there could be minor discomfort immediately following the procedure, there is no need to stop living your daily life. You will want to avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, or high temperatures for about 24 hours after the procedure. It will take about two weeks for any minimal redness and swelling to completely dissipate and the filler to fully set.
