How does laser pigment removal work?

Pure Lux Medspa of Minneapolis uses the Elite+ grade 4 laser. It conducts pulses of energy to reach deep below the surface of the skin and remove hyperpigmentation. The energy from the laser breaks up dark spots into smaller particles that are naturally eliminated through the immune system or flakes off the skins surface.

Sun spots on the face, neck, chest, arms, hands and legs begin to fade following dark spot reduction treatment, so you can feel confident showing off your skin again. Laser brown spot removal works on most skin types, both darker tones and lighter tones, without harming the surrounding skin.

How many treatments will I need?

Depending on the size and darkness of your sun spots, multiple sessions may be needed to achieve the best results. However, with just one treatment you can achive a good reduction.

What can I expect during my treatment?

Laser pigment removal can cause slight discomfort in some patients, but a cooling gel may be applied prior to treatment to help alleviate any pain. Protective goggles will be worn by the patient. Most patients claim it feels like a warm rubber band snap. Once the treatment is complete, your provider will apply a layer of cooling balm and a chemical free SPF.

Are there any side effects?

Brown spot reduction treatments have few side effects, which typically include some minor swelling and redness that can last for a few hours. Although patient experience may vary, most patients can return to their normal routines immediately following this procedure with no downtime.

What kind of care will I need to do post treatment?

At home care will be necessary. Your Pure Lux provider will recommend a regimen for you that will prevent any further damage along with maintaining the results from your treatment. Most importantly, you will need to be on a very specific chemical free SPF. When dealing with any kind of pigment, it takes a team to overcome.
