Welcome to the pre-and post treatment instructions for your Laser Pigment Removal Treatment here at Pure Lux Medspa. You will find detail guidance on how to prepare for your laser facial and the necessary steps to take afterward.

PRE TREATMENT INTRUCTIONS

Consultation
Schedule a consultation with your qualified skincare professional, to discuss goals, expectations, and any concerns you have to ensure you are a good candidate for the treatment.
It is possible to have a consultation and treatment the same day.

SUN EXPOSURE
Limit your sun exposure and avoid tanning beds for at minimum two weeks before your treatment. Sunburned or heavily tan skin is not suitable for treatment.
Your skin MUST be your normal skin tone with zero tan.
It is required to wear a physical sunblock of at least SPF 30 daily to protect your skin.

It may be required to follow a specific home care, treatment protocol prior to your treatment. These instructions are designed to prepare the skin for the procedure and maximize its benefits. Using specific home care treatment products helps to condition the skin, making it more receptive to the treatment.

Hydrate
Maintain good hydration by drinking plenty of water in the days leading up to your laser facial. Hydrated skin is better able to tolerate the treatment.

Acid products
Avoid using any retinoids, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, or other exfoliating products for at least one week before the laser facial. These products can increase skin sensitivity, and may interfere with the safety and results of the treatment.

Avoid Make-up
If possible, please arrive with a makeup-free and clean face. This means removing all traces of makeup, including foundation, concealer, powder, eyeshadow, and mascara.

Medication
Inform your skin care provider about any medication's or supplements, you are taking, as some medication's can increase the risk of complications during the treatment.
POST TREATMENT INTRUCTIONS

Refrain from picking at scabs or peeling skin, as this can lead to scarring or infection.

moisturize
Apply a gentle, hydrating moisturizer as recommended by your practitioner to keep the skin hydrated and promote healing.

Avoid Heat
Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and strenuous exercise for the first few days, as heat can irritate the skin for 3 days or until redness & inflammation is gone.

Stay out of direct sunlight and wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 to protect the treated area for several weeks.
Sun exposure can worsen pigmentation and increase the risk of complications.
Remember we are getting rid of sun damage. We don’t want to reverse results.

Hydrate
Drinking plenty of water for optimal healing and recovery. Water plays a crucial role in maintaining skins hydration and promoting the elimination of toxins from the body.

avoid exfoliants
Cleanse your face with a gentle cleanser recommended by your aesthetician. Avoid using harsh or abrasive products that can irritate the skin.
Do not use exfoliating products or treatments for at least a week after the procedure.
After 1 week, exfoliating products will be recommended by your provider and will ad in the results.

Schedule follow-up
Attend any scheduled follow up appointments with your provider to monitor your progress and address Any concerns or complications.
It is common to need a series of treatments to achieve the desired goals and results.

Home Care
We recommend using very specific products to enhance your results following laser, pigment removal treatment.
We will recommend a specific gentle cleanser, lighter/brightener, vitamin A, vitamin C, and a sunscreen that should be used daily to protect your skin and maintain your results.
